Time: 10:30pm - 4:00pm Location: Westcoast Rivers/sections: Arnold River River Level: 80 cumecs People: tpp O.E Students Weather: overcast Incidents: None Personal Time Comments: 3 rafts out. Had 2 seconds years and a previous TPP student helping to teach us. Felt like I had improved slightly and had plenty of time on the guide stick. It was helpful to have someone teaching and giving us advice and feedback. Got to practice some throw bagging as well. Caught heaps of eddies on the way down. had fun. Date: 31/08/2016
Time: 10:00pm - 3:30pm Location: Westcoast Rivers/sections: Arnold River River Level: 50 cumecs People: tpp O.E Students Weather: overcast Incidents: None Personal Time Comments: Only 8 of us out with 2 rafts. Had a second year with us, Ariel, who worked as a raft guide over the summer to give us tips. I got to perform a safety brief before we got onto the river which was a good experience plus watch Ariel's safety talk. I think I have most of it sorted. River trip went smoothly, caught heaps of eddies and just cruised down which means we got the most out of the time we spent on the river. Date: 08/05/2016
Time: 12:00pm - 4:30pm Location: Westcoast Rivers/sections: Arnold River River Level: 70 cumecs People: tpp COE Weather: overcast Incidents: None Personal Time Comments: Good trip. Took a while to get everyone motivated because of the night before. Tom was our trip leader, he took charge of the organisation of the trip. He split the more experienced people up with the less experienced/confident. It was good, I got plenty of time on the guide stick which was good. It was also good practice to pretend that the crew were actual clients, so making the trip fun by telling stories, etc. But of course we still goofed around. Did some throw bag practice at the kayak take-out. Always good to practice. Didn't have any scary moments. A really good day with good practice. |
